Centenary, Irish & Dutch Show Champion 3rd Best In Show at Dutch National Show
Summer joined the Ledgands household in July 2009 and ever since then she has kept us on our toes...as well as the other dogs on theirs. She has always tried to be the dominant dog of the house...but underneath this is a real softy. Summer like all Pointers, loves nothing more than to be cuddled on the settee where she will settle for hours given half the chance. Summer has a great nose for birds and all sorts of moving life!! She's always stalking in the field. I think her view is that if it moves, it's fair game....and if it doesn't move, she'll make it. When it is time for her last toilet before bed, she is the first out of the door and runs up into the field...probably hoping to catch sight of a rabbit or other night beast! But she is usually first back as she has not been backward in coming forward and realises that there is a biscuit to be had to go to bed with! Crafty mare! Well Summer has been doing so well in the show ring. She has had some excellent class wins in the UK and gained her Junior Warrant - which was just so exciting for us. Summer has been campaigned in Southern Ireland and has gain lots of Green Stars and Reserve Green Stars. As a result os all these Irish wins, Summer is both an Irish Junior Champion and an Irish Show Champion. On the continent, Summer has gone down a storm. She has gained many CACs (like our CC's) and CACIBs in different countries, often taking Best of Breed too. Because of her wins at both the Dortmund and Leeuwarden European Winners Dog Shows she has now become, amongst other things, an FCI Centenary Show Champion and an FCI Centenary European Winner. This win entitles Summer to participate in the FCI World Champion of Champions competition in November 2011 to be held in Brussels, Belgium. In one week (late August/early September 2011) Summer won Best of Breed and Group 1 in Rotterdam, and then went on to take Best of Breed, Group 1 and a fantastic 3rd BEST IN SHOW at the Dutch National Dog Show in Leeuwarden, Nothern Holland and this has made her a Dutch Show Champion. In the same week she won Best of Breed at the European Winners Dog show held at the same venue. WOW it was almost all too much to take in ! At this rate we are going to need a room just for the trophies! Here are some of those from just one week in Holland in August 2011.
